What We Test

Our testosterone blood panel covers all the key markers for a complete hormonal assessment

๐Ÿ”ฌ

Total Testosterone

The overall level of testosterone in your blood. This is the primary marker for diagnosing low testosterone and is used as a baseline for treatment monitoring.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

Free Testosterone

The portion of testosterone that is biologically active and available for your body to use. Some men have normal total testosterone but low free testosterone.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

SHBG

Sex Hormone Binding Globulin binds to testosterone and affects how much is available. High SHBG can reduce the amount of active testosterone in your body.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

LH & FSH

Luteinising Hormone and Follicle Stimulating Hormone help identify whether low testosterone is caused by a testicular or pituitary issue.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

Oestradiol

An important hormone to monitor alongside testosterone. Elevated levels can cause side effects and may need to be managed during TRT.

๐Ÿ”ฌ

PSA & Full Blood Count

Prostate Specific Antigen and blood cell counts are monitored for safety throughout TRT treatment to ensure your ongoing health.

When to Get Tested

Blood tests for testosterone are recommended if you are experiencing symptoms such as persistent fatigue, low mood or irritability, reduced sex drive, difficulty concentrating, loss of muscle mass, or unexplained weight gain. We recommend morning blood tests as testosterone levels are typically highest in the early morning. If you are already on TRT, regular monitoring blood tests are essential to ensure your treatment is safe and effective. We typically test before starting treatment, 6-8 weeks after beginning, and then every 3-6 months once stabilised.
